Of Newbies and New Years

Hey there!  The name’s Alex: resident geek of this little corner of the internet.  I’ve never had a blog before so bear with me for the first little while please.  I’m still trying to figure out this interface and, knowing me, I’ll probably be changing the design as it suits my fancy until I’m finally happy with it.

I’m not going to lie, the reason I wanted a blog in the first place is because a couple of my closest friends have them and I’ve been wanting to comment, but blogger won’t let me without an account.  It’s a silly reason, I know.  Then I realized that it actually might be fun to have a blog.  I’ve never really been into announcing the goings on of my life to the internet, but I’ll give it a try.  I figure I’ll post whatever random, artistic geekery I’ve been up to on here, to share with the world... and probably end up ranting about video games in the process.

I’ll be posting some images from my gallery in the New Year and I’ll try to see if I can make a regular posting date to make my life easier. Which brings me to my next topic: New Years.

I must admit, I’m sad that this one’s coming to an end.  Though it’s been riddled with sickness, I’d go so far as to say that it was the best year of my life.  I guess it’s a common sentiment around New Years, but I’m not saying it lightly.  This year had grad, it had prom, it had the most fun-filled crazy summer, it had me making new friends and growing closer to old ones.  It had new creativity and new ideas and it was truly a blast.

To everyone who has made 2011 an incredibly special year, I thank you with all I’ve got.

Now that my introductory post has turned sufficiently sappy, I wish everyone a Happy New year and I’ll be back after all the parties are over.

Stay beautiful,

-Alex
